At Least I Never Killed Anyone

There are some things we wish Jesus had not been so painfully clear on. In the Sermon on the Mount he makes it clear that it is not enough to refrain from murder, but we must refrain from anger which often times leads to murderous thoughts. It's not enough for us to refrain from adultery, but we must refrain from lustful glances or romantic day dreams that can lead to emotional and sexual infidelity. Jesus holds us to a much higher standard than we might aspire to ourselves, but he has reasons. We'll explore those reasons in this morning's message. (Permalink)
