A Surprising Lenten Checklist

Have you heard of author, actor and humorist Robert Benchley's 'Law of Distinction?' Basically, it says there are two kinds of people in the world. Those who believe there are two kinds of people in the world and those who don't. I believe that to be true, though I typically change the two types of people to suit my particular bias of the moment. Right now, I'm kind of on a 'To Do List' kick, so I believe there are two kinds of people in the world: those who keep lists and those who don't. I have a Lenten Check List and I hope you do as well - but I'm betting my list is more than a little different than yours. My list this year includes some things by devotional author Selwyn Hughes ('borrowed' first by Len Sweet), that, might surprise you. This morning I'm going to share with you a Lenten list that includes us finding ways to steal, drink, lie and swear as much as possible during Lent! Yep! Remember, you heard it here first! Now, PLEASE pay close attention this morning because what I actually say might be somewhat different than what you think I'm going to say based on this list! (Permalink)
